“Significant weight loss is one of the most remarkable things the human body can accomplish. Understanding the pathways, the science, and what happens after — that’s what this resource is built for.”

Your pathway

Every journey is different.
All paths lead here.

Significant weight loss rarely follows a single route. Most people who keep weight off long term combine approaches — and all pathways, in time, raise the same question about skin. This is where we answer it.

Ozempic Mounjaro Wegovy

Medications

Ozempic, Mounjaro and Wegovy have changed medical weight loss. We explain exactly how each works, what the real-world numbers look like, and what happens to your body — including your skin — as the weight comes off.

Gastric Sleeve Bypass Banding

Weight Loss Surgery

Gastric sleeve, Roux-en-Y bypass and adjustable banding remain the most effective interventions for significant long-term weight loss. Explained plainly, without the promotional language that surrounds this space.

Nutrition Science Resistance Training Maintenance

Diet & Exercise

The hardest path — and for many, the most meaningful one. We explain the physiology of fat loss, protein targets, resistance training, metabolic adaptation, and what it actually takes to sustain the result long term.

The real picture

Most people use more
than one approach.

Medication-assisted weight loss is supported by dietary advice. Bariatric surgery depends on specialist nutrition for life. Diet and exercise are the foundation regardless of what else you do. Your journey is probably a combination — and this site is built to support all of it.

Common combinations

💊 GLP-1 Medication + 🥗 Dietitian Support

Medication suppresses appetite — dietitian optimises protein and preserves muscle. Together, they produce better body composition than either alone.

🏥 Bariatric Surgery + 🥗 Pre & Post Nutrition

Surgical success is determined as much by nutritional preparation as by the procedure itself. Pre-hab protocols significantly improve outcomes.

Lifestyle Changes + Body Contouring

Years of disciplined weight loss often leave behind skin that exercise cannot address. When loose skin is what remains, body contouring surgery is a separate decision with its own risks.

Weight lost.
Skin left behind.

Significant weight loss — by any pathway — frequently results in excess, loose skin that exercise, nutrition and time cannot resolve. This is not a failure. It is a predictable biological consequence of remarkable change.

70–80%
of patients who lose significant weight develop clinically significant skin excess

GLP-1 Medications July 2026 10 min read

Ozempic vs Mounjaro — what the research shows

Both are GLP-1 receptor agonists. Both produced substantial average weight loss in clinical trials. But they are not the same drug, they do not work identically, and the difference in outcomes — an average of 20.2% of body weight on tirzepatide versus 13.7% on semaglutide in the SURMOUNT-5 trial — matters enormously when planning a surgical journey.
